I’m tempted to have you guess what this one surprisingly sexy thing is….

But I’ll tell you: The one thing is…being organized with your time! Some of you might argue that that’s not a juicy answer. But you deniers probably won’t be organized enough to write back and tell me that. Heh heh.

Being a good Time Planner is one of the sexiest things you can do. Why? Let me explain.

Some things are famously sexy:

Good eye contact
Listening without interrupting
Smelling good/having good digestion
Having a relaxed and open energy or vibe
Being healthy
Smooth/soft skin
Having a good sense of humor
Being patient
Being generous
Appearing confident and in-control
Well guess what: these sexy qualities are quick to disappear when we are in a rush or confused- whether it’s our schedule, the address of our appointment, or deadlines. It’s well-known that stress increases cortisol (the stress hormone) and that can increase acne, anxiety, skin quality, how we smell, digestion, etc.

How is being patient and generous affected by time?

In the shocking Good Samaritan Study, they found that seminary students in a rush to give a sermon about the Good Samaritan literally stepped over the victim in their path if they were in a big rush:

“The amount of “hurriness” induced in the subject had a major effect on helping behavior, but the task variable did not (even when the talk was about the Good Samaritan). Overall 40% offered some help to the victim. In low hurry situations, 63% helped, medium hurry 45% and high hurry 10%.”[1]

Want to be relaxed, turned on, magnetic and generous? It can be hard to do but the principle is easy: Be a good time planner. Know what you’re doing when. Have the information you need- address, contact, means of transport…and a backup plan. Leave plenty of time to get there. Show up smelling good, relaxed, and emotionally available. The more you practice good time planning, the more these sexy qualities will naturally follow. They are related. And just think- botox, creams, surgeries, self-help courses, private coaches, therapists OR…know where you’re going and show up on time! It might sound ludicrous but it being prepared and on time can be that magically powerful. Try it.

And hit reply to let me know how it goes!
