Freedom is never given; it is won. -A. Philip Randolph
What do you think of this quote?
In the last few weeks I have had to fight for my freedom and have learned just how true this concept is.
As a self-employed American with wonderful clients, I usually don’t have to suffer from basic trials like other people’s rules and schedules. It may be that I take this freedom for granted, and like so many things, as the song by Joni Mitchell says, “You don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone.” In my case, thank goodness, my freedom is not gone, but it has been challenged.
Fortunately I had my boyfriend and family to support me, and plenty of love around me. Even so, having the desire for a certain thing and having to fight for it unexpectedly can be daunting or even devastating. In addition to the support of my loving peeps, all throughout this process I have turned to Joumor to get me through: Do what you CAN do. Set yourself up to win. Have a clear vision for your desire AND be willing to make changes if necessary.
There are no guarantees in life, and it is impossible to always be prepared. However, if we have Joumorously prepared for what we CAN, (Preparation is Everything, and Everything is Preparation) we will be in a much stronger place to handle the unexpected.
To your preparation and your freedom,
Leah
