Do you lead with the “NO?”
In every course I do, every program or event I attend, I am astounded at what comes out of attractive, seemingly successful people’s mouths:
“I can’t because..”
“That won’t work because…”
“No, I don’t think so…”
You know what they say: You spot it, you go it. I was the ultimate culprit for naysaying any great idea people had for me, because “I knew better.” About 13 years ago, one of my best friends said to me: “You need to stop leading with the ‘NO’- it’s like your reflex response to everything”.
To be honest, it sort of stung when he told me. I wanted to respond, “I can’t because I don’t know how to stop.” 🙂 I really felt that I was just a realist. But actually I was mired in limiting beliefs –specifically for myself– that I’d get triggered when anyone saw possibility for me.
Have you tried tons of things to be more positive, more magnetic, more open, etc…and nothing seems to change?
I had. Directly shifting my mind from my limiting beliefs is something I seem to be incapable of. I’m open to the possibility of this changing in the future, but right now I feel too weak, and I’m ok with that… especially because there is something else that can change my brain function automatically: ACTION.
When we take action to get into alignment with what we say we want, our anxiety lowers, our confidence soars, good things start to happen… and we entrepreneurs usually get PAID.
A dear client just signed up for a trial month of CEO Rise. Why? Because she knows she has all the gifts but she’s just mired in inaction, procrastination, fear, etc. But she was smart enough to know there’s another option: ACTION. She just can’t do it alone.
Are you committed to your vision? If you are, take one step forward on your to-do list, and knock that silly limiting belief on its head.
