Elon Musk, founder/CEO/chief architect or designer of SpaceX, Tesla, and Neuralink. 46 years old, father of 6, net worth 19.6 billion.

Did you ever cry from stress?

Me neither. (And certainly not a couple of hours ago).

I read about productivity 6 days a week, and Elon Musk comes up a lot. He schedules his days in FIVE-minute portions and seems to keep to it, handsomely smiling all the way.

Now, I’m sure Elon Musk is human (probably) and has his own human problems. But productivity isn’t one of them.
For the rest of us, there’s Joumor.

Joumor is when you:
✓ Swear you’ll do your taxes early and don’t…for 25 years
✓ Judge your weakness and are convinced of failure
✓ Give yourself credit for nothing
✓ Are anxiously searching for the answer to your improvement
✓ Stay up hours too late on Facebook, Instagram, whatever
✓ Write invoices you don’t send
✓ Pay bills late or never
✓ Incur debt when you have the money
✓ Promise you’ll be different and you are…but also aren’t…
…And somehow are alive and loved by people who know you, and doing great things in the world that matter.

You are how you are including all your “ridiculous” ways, not in spite of them.

As a former business coach of mine said, “You can’t fail at everything.”

In Joumor, How We Do Something Is How We Do Some Things.

You don’t suck at everything. You’re original, unique and talented. You just need some help in some arenas.

Some of us are held back from living into our strengths or bringing our gifts to the world because of ADD, PTSD, OCD, low thyroid, adrenal fatigue, allergies, addiction, abuse, poverty…who knows what our reason is. And here’s the beautiful thing, you are how you are including all your “ridiculous” ways, not in spite of them.

We all fight in different ways, even if it’s just giving up. Here’s the thing: unlike someone who doesn’t struggle with these things, you KNOW what it means to succeed at paying your bills on time, or showing up for your team, or having those hard conversations, especially given whatever your personal weakness is right now.

I wish I could tell you the fight is over…it’s not. But there’s an exciting caveat- You can fight your battles with the right support and mindset, and then move onto bigger, more fabulous demons, like launching your Institute! (Jus’ sayin’ 🙂

If we were all robots it would be bland. And you know what? Even robots make mistakes. Mistakes are human and that’s the hardest bestest funniest part of it all. You know, crying and laughing at the same time can be pretty good.

I’m not Elon Musk, and if you are, I’d love to meet you, shake your hand, and ask you as many questions as our 5-minute portion allows…

So good luck on whatever (taxes?) you are working on right now, deep breaths, you’re not alone.
